Fuzzbox + Captains Of Industry + The Fires I Made

Date: Monday, 17 May 2010
Time: 19:30 – 23:00
Location: The Duchess, Stonebow, York

They’ve got a fuzz box and they’re gonna use it! And they’re back with the original line-up! Back in the day, four brilliant Birmingham birds captured the zeitgeist of the moment, all big hair, big beats and big tunes. Crossing The Slits with The Bangles and The Go-Gos (and even getting included on NME’s now-legendary C-86 cassette sampler) they were unselfconscious theatrical glam-punk and, almost unheard of now, crossed over heavily in to the indie scene. And, of course, lead singer Vix never really went away. Collaborations with Ginger (Wildhearts), Conny Bloom (Hanoi Rocks) and the self-named ‘ViX n The Kix’ – ” … a retro lashing of slick Fifties glamour and flirty burlesque”. Love Is The Slug, Pink Sunshine, Self and International Rescue … call them.

New EP ‘Last One To Leave’ nearly complete…

The Captains are getting closer and closer to completion of the latest EP. The final, polished mixes have been sent across and now there is just the last touches to add to the design.

We’re really pleased with how the sound is transforming from the last EP and big thanks go out to Carl Hetherington for the initial recordings, Andy Partridge for doing the magic with mixing and mastering and also to Charlie Eddington for the cover shot of the Captains miniatures. Also big thanks to Ian for spending the painful hours carving away at tiny pieces of us to create our little miniature forms. We like them :D
